Up for sale is a very old full size antique German made F A Glass \"Steiner\" violin for restoration. The nicely figured 2 pc. curly maple back measures 14 1/8 by 8 1/4 inches. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin. The violin is lined and has 4 corner blocks The neck is solid. The fingerboard is ebony and in good shape. The scroll pegbox and neck are handmade and not the original to the violin and are in good shape (please check pic). The back of the scroll has a hand carved flower design (please check pics). The neck was replaced at the button and is stable and holding (please check pic). The soundpost is standing. The violin is labelled as a \"Fried Aug. Glafs(?) verfertigte nach Jacobus Steiner in Apfam omne prope cenibuntum Ao= 1676\". The violin will need restoration to become playable. The nut will need filed and there is a small open seam in the endpin area. There are some scratches on the varnish (please check pics). Please check pics. and email questions.
