Offered here is this beautiful art deco era blue silk flapper evening bag. This purse is just stunning with silk on silk floral and butterfly embroidery and metallic thread, with an intricately reticulated delicately carved wood frame. I believe the wood may be carved rosewood. The carved wood top is hand sewn onto the body of the bag. It is two separate pieces, with one sewn on each side. The silky thin twisted rope strap slips through the wood creating a nice slide closure and the two wooden pieces slide flat together when the twisted rope straps are on your shoulder. The bag has a Chinese jade coin on one side, hanging from the twisted rope, and an old Chinese coin on the other side also hanging from the twisted rope. The background silk is a royal blue with colorful silk embroidered floral and butterflies pattern and also metallic threads of gold and copper used in swirly patterns. The bag is in nice condition. One piece of the carved wood frame has a break. If carefully glued so it will stay together it wouldn\'t even be noticeable as its a fairly clean break and already isn\'t noticeable if put together. No pieces of carving are missing. The inside of the bag is a light green silk.
