Nice antique from China, Famille Rose Figurines, The \"Land God\" and spouse, \"Land Grandma.\" One of the most-widelyworshipedGods among the Chinese. In the past, nearly all households enshrined the God of land, with temples ofvarioussizes dedicated to the God scattered in urban and rural areas, attracting a large number of pilgrims. He is a benign- looking old man with gray hair and white beard, wearing a long robe and black hat with gold enamel. He has pierced holes in both ears and nostrils with an open mouth, sitting, holding a gold enameled bar. In full culture a spouse called, \"Land Grandma\" or \"Land Granny,\" also present. She is with black hair sitting, holding a cane.This lovely pair is hand painted on what\'s believed to be hard paste porcelain from before the 1950s, quite beautiful in color and detail. They have been well kept and both close in size of approximately 9\" H X 4\" W X 3\" D. Both are have red stamps, impressed imprints, and are numbered. His imprint was smeared with brush strokes and before drying. Hers is quitelegible.
