Antique Chinese Ginger Jar

Up for sale is a rustic antique Chinese ginger jar with a vintage carved wooden stand. It is hexagonal with 6 panels alternating between calligraphy and a floral pattern. The color of the shiny glaze is a mix of green and turquoise. The top rim and sides near the bottom are glazed with black, which is rather unusual. The bottom is unglazed terra cotta and shows maker\'s marks, but they are not legible. Included is a hand-carved vintage Chinese stand made of a dark wood, possibly mahogany. There are some areas with missing glaze and some inclusions on the ginger jar.(See pictures) These may have happened in the kiln and are probably not the result of damage. This is a handmade Asian artifact that would have been used for transporting and storing ginger. It most likely dates from the late 1800s or early 1900s.Shipping rate will vary by destination.
