Item up for offer is a wonderful old German 4/4 violin with an interior label that reads \"Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis Faciebat Anno 1716\". The \"16\" part of the date is written by hand in pencil. On the bottom edge of the violin there is an impressed stamp that says \"Germany\". There is no peg present in the bottom. The front of the body shows some wear to the finish and the back shows finish wear and some scratching. The edges around the upper and lower bouts show some light wood wear. Neck is firmly attached and all 4 tuning keys are present. Holes for the keys show no cracking. Scroll and head stock are in great shape. Entire violin measures roughly 23\" long.
