This is a very old violin with lion head labeled: \"Marcus Stainer Bürgerlicher Lauten- und Geigenmacher in Kufstein in Tiroll 1640\".

The length of back is 362 mm. The whole length is 589 mm.

One pieces back of maple wood, the ribs and scroll are made ofthe same material that is exceptionally beautiful, the top is made of a highquality spruce. Thevarnish is very rich and has a dark brown color, only it has minorscratches and dents through use. Nice inlaid purfling. The violin has some old very good repaired cracks. No cracks under the bridge and on the back. Ebony set up.
