Sepia toned. Autographed in green ink \"To my Pal Scotty Strachan From Eddie Mead May 24 - 1942\". It is an historically important autograph because it was most likely the last autograph that Mead ever gave. HE DIED ON MAY 25, 1942 JUST ONE DAY AFTER SIGNING THIS PHOTOGRAPH! This was from the personal collection of Scotty Strachan who was a famous manager, trainer and matchmaker from the 1920\'s - 1940\'s. (See my next 2 lots for more on Strachan). Rare. Mead was famous as being the manager of famous boxers like Henry Armstrong, Joe Lynch, Chalky Wright, Paul Perrone, Patsy Pirroni, Carmen Barth and many others.
