Notes: This mask is solid with an aged patina. It is in good condition. There is an area of possible repair on on side of the coiffure head design.

For your consideration is this hand carved wooden helmet mask/ from the Igbo Tribe of Nigeria. This type of mask was called a “Maiden Spirit” mask and used in festival dances. The mask has an elaborate crested hairstyle and headdress/coiffure. The long narrow face is painted white with tribal marks on cheeks and forehead, open mouth showing teeth and woven fabric around its neck. It measures about 24\" long by 14\" deep by 7 3/4\" wide. This mask is solid with an aged patina. It is in good condition. There is an area of possible repair on one side of the coiffure head design. Please see the pictures for more us on Facebook!
