Old Antique Bisque Head Composition German Hertel Schwab Character Baby Doll Tlc:
UP FOR ADOPTION and a little TLC here is an"adorable" antique Germanbaby doll who has hadpast "head repairs". I do not know the past restoration history but will try to describe the best I can with any flaws. Incised on the back of her bisque head is "Made in Germany, 152, 7".Reference attributes to Hertel Schwab & Co., 1910 to 1930 Germany. She measures 15" tall being a bisque socket head on strung jointed composition baby body. Strung fine doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders and legs with all fingers intact but very worn & scuffed finger tips.Fingers accentedin redfor that "life-like" appearance.Wear throughout body with scuffs, wear, old built in dirtfor being close to 100 years old. Doll has a "great" little face (despite line cracks) withopen andclosegray glass sleepy eyes that work fine, wear on the eyelids, paintedlashes around the eyes, light brown feathered brows, open mouth with full row of upper teeth and molded tongue.Nice color on her expressive little facewith a faint dimple in each cheek and little double baby chin.I removed the pate from her head to examine, I see a "chip" missing on the bisque rim, multiple line crack repairs throughout head, face, and neck areas. With these repair head is all intact but you may wish to do a little paint restoration in places to conceal the lines, up to you., *see photos please. There are several faint lines on the face if you look close in my photos. Email for further photos if you like. Blonde mohair wig is glued secure on pate. Doll wears a lovely antique gown, slip, and undies. There is a charming bib, knit bonnet and booties. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. If you would like further photos or have questions please email me. This baby doll has such an "expressive" character face and wouldbe wonderful for a collection or display! With or without further restorations, up to you!
