Up for sale is a rare and large original Atlas/Map of Part of the historic Upper Part of The 2nd Ward of Queens, New York 1927. It measures 20 x 27 1/2. It is on linen and in Ex/Ex+ condition.Map covers from Maspeth Ave to Flushing Ave and Garrison Ave to Newtown Creek.

The roman numerals indicate how many stories each building is and each color represents the type of structure. Yellow is wood, brown is stone, pink is brick. The Xs through the buildings indicate it is a barn or stable. The brown streets indicate cobblestone while green indicates macadamized pavement and white means it is unpaved. And the light green lines on the mapshow who the first recorded and original landowners were as well as the original streets.

NOTE: All maps that have been updated can be removed to see the original buildings from 1927. Just use a sponge and warm water and gently remove the top layers.

NOTE: Many of the 1927 maps have updates that were attached in later years. They can be removed to see the original highlights of 1927 by using warm water and a sponge by lightly rubbing the updates. Also placing the map about six inches over boiling water will also remove updates if so desired.
