Original 1913 London Underground Map - Single sided and attached to a 1913 edition of Blacks Guide to London. Large folding map, printed in 3 colours - excellent condition. Also in the book; a nice UndergrounD theatre advert and a large fold out Blacks Map of London.

Widely documented as a 1914 WWI design (owing to its reduced colours and poor quality paper) we learn from this rare example that the design and print began in 1913 - if the date of the guide book is accurate (perhaps the books were published and maps attached in early 1914?) We normally find the maps in guide books of this era pre-date the book.

Green ink is used to show the entire network with the exception of the Metropolitan line, which (whilst happy to be considered part of the wider \'UndergrounD\' network, continued to operate independently until 1933 when the whole network was brought together under the London Passenger Transport Board LPTB - remamed London Transport later that year).

Interestingly, there is a Central London Railway extension shown as under construction to Gunnersbury, however, to this day, this extension has never been completed.

Availableto anyone in the world.
