Beautiful original Art Deco 1920\'s Black Gold and Blue pure silkgenuine Flappers evening coat.
This is a real Museum piece and we wish we knew more of it\'s history.It came from the estate of a local woman who worked as a costumedesigner and the relatives told usshe bought this coat from an sale house in Paris in the 1960\'s and say she was convinced it was an importantcouture piece,possibly by Paul Poiret,alhough we have no proof of this.We googled Paul Poiretand found many,many similarpieces by him so you never know.What we do know is the fact the work and material are exceptional and we have never seen anything like it..
One of the most beautiful original 1920\'s coats we have seen but there is damage.The silk on the bottom of the back
has started to shred and we are selling the coat asbeing suitable only for repair,research or display.It would also be suitable forshortening and would make a stunning jacket.It is trimmed on the bottom with some beautiful black pleated trimming and a quantity of this comes with the coat and l am sure would help with restoration of this beautiful coat.
Beautiful art deco design pure silk fabric in blue,black and gold,it is fullylined in a figured black silk that is in excellent shape.It closes at the front with a single button...
Original 1920\'s flapper style,the design and work here is incredible,this
must have been the work of a top end Couturier.
