Up for sale today is an Original Antique Allis Chalmers Corliss Steam Engine Revolution Counter or Gauge made by Ashcroft. Allis-Chalmers is well known for its \"Persian Orange\" color tractors, but before that they built large Corliss type steam engines. This gauge would count the number of revolutions of the steam engine crankshaft, and the counter mechanism appears to work fine. The whole thing is nickle or chrome plated - there is typical wear to the plating, including rubs, scratches, and small spots of plate loss. The counter measures approx. 9 1/4\" in diameter at the back or mounting plate, and approx. 4\" deep or thick. Including the arm, the counter is approx. 15\" wide overall. It is opened with a key - the original key was not with it, but I found one that works to open the lid. You don\'t often see these Allis Chalmers Corliss steam engine items or parts.
