Here is an original U.S. Civil War U.S. M-1860 Cavalry Saber marked on the side of the pommel to Co. K of the 1st Alabama Cavalry (Union) and which is in very good condition as shown. The 1st Alabama Cavalry was a well known Union Cavalry Unit that saw action in the Western Theater of the War. The sword measures 40.75\" (103.5 cm.) long overall. The 34.75\" (88.2 cm.) Blade has a nice smooth surface with darkness and some spotting but no pitting. The left ricasso is marked \"EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N.J.\" faintly and the right is marked \"R.F.M. 1864\". The unit marking on the left side of the pommel is: \"14 K 1ST ALA.\". The hilt is very good with no damage. The grip is very good with wire and wrap intact. No scabbard.
