Pre-WW2 GERMAN SPORTS BADGE,BRONZE, DRA. (Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen)

This is an original, authentic bronze DRA (German Empire Sports Badge). Itwas produced by H. Wernstein Jena LobstedtD.R.G.M. 33918 before 1933 with no swastika.

From 1913-1933, the bronze DRA (Deutsches Reichssportabzeichenor GermanEmpire Sports Badge) was awarded to those between the agesof 18 and 32 years old who passed the required level of physical training in atwelve month period. In 1933 control of physical training was passed to the DeutschesReichsbund für Leibesübungen. (German National Union for Physical Exsercises),and the DRA badge was replaced by a new DRL badge of the same design with onlya change in the central lettering. In 1937 the swastika was added to the bottom of theoak-leaf wreath.
