German WW2 military mountain boots. Very heavy duty construction. Entire upper is one piece of leather which wraps around & has an almost invisible seam on inner side of boot. Smooth leather lining. Very heavy soles with aluminum horse heel. Swiss-made steel cleats. Size 10 or 11. Each boot weighs 3 lb. Cloth pull strap has the word HANDARBEIT (hand-made) in BEVO weave. These were probably custom boots made for an officer. Standard pattern German boots have been observed with the same maker tag.
