Fishing Ships In Haifa Port

In the shadow of Mount Carmel, where mountain, valley and sea come together, below the flourishing city of trade and industry, not far from all the noise and bustle of the great port, come the fishing boats to tie up at their own jetty. Here is a small world all of is own, away from the hurly-burly of the large merchant ships and the cargo boats.
From here the fishermen of Israel set forth across the great waters, to distant fishing banks and beds. Heroes of toil they are, fashioning the sea-ways, facing tempest, peril and adventure in the course of their labours. They are the source of an ancient yet modern legend, a wondrous achievement within the saga of the upbuilding of the nation, and a fresh motif in the landscape.
