This is an Issued, Original, US Government Issue M1924 Carlisle Bandage. It shows some wear and dents from long storage and allthough it came in a box of unissued carlisle bandages, its condition was not as nice as the rest. Made with a Brass strip and Steel by the prime contractor, Bauer & Black, Division of the Kendall Co., Chicago, Illinois. These First-Aid Packets did not yet contain a Sulfanilamide Shaker Envelope (only introduced by end of 1941), and were painted using an Olive Drab #7 color shade. They were replaced by a whole host of variations as brass became a scarce war resource. I NEVER SAY MINT BECAUSE THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH GI GEAR! They were nested together in a cardboard box of 10 and all mine show age, wear and marks. What You See Is What You Get.
