ORIGINAL FILM PROP FROM THE 1980\'s SCIENCE FICTION FILM \'Saga of a Crew\'
This is the Original Space Suit from the classic 1980\'s Science Fiction feature Film \'Saga of a Crew\'.
This one of a kind Film Costume/Prop was hand constructed by Film Producer Daniel R. Christopher in true \'Kit-bashing\' tradition. By that I mean that this costume was not constructed of high quality resins and robust rugged construction materials like those constructed by today\'s costume departments with reasonably sufficient budgets at their disposal. Saga of a Crew was created within a restricted total budget of around $13,000 and this suit reflects that fact. The suit was worn by 3 actors in the Film, (Douglas Cranford, Paul Schepis, Daniel Christopher) and the suit was refreshed or modified several times during it\'s use in the Film. Those familiar with the unusual production schedule of this Film are aware that additional footage was created around 2004-2005 to be added to the 1980\'s footage. This suit, in several manifestations, is the same costume used for both the 1980\'s footage as well as the more recent 2004-2005 footage.
This Film Costume Prop consists of 10 (ten) pieces:1 Jumpsuit, size 481 Main Jacket, approx. size 15-1/21 Neck Collar1 Main Pressure Helmet2 Gloves2 Boots, size 111 Deck Helmet (2004 accessory)1 Deck Goggles  \"         \"          \"
CONSTRUCTION NOTES:The Jumpsuit has various foam and rubber detailing affixed and is worn beneath the Jacket. The basis for the \'Main Jacket\' is a 1950\'s -1960\'s hound tooth patterned canvas like material industrial work jacket which belonged to the Producers Father, Calvin whom wore the jacket while employed at a neighborhood Dairy. His name, \'CAL\' is embroidered inside. Name is on inside since the jacket was turned \'inside out\' for the space suit construction. The \'Life Support Apparatus\' on the back of the Jacket is constructed with a heavy Cardboard, is fused to the Jacket, and detailed with assorted parts of varying materials. The Neck Collar is constructed with soft foam, wire, plastic parts, and is lined on inside with Duct Tape. The Main Pressure Helmet is an obviously modified motorcycle helmet. 2 winter gloves are painted white with rubber detailing. 2 boots are winter boots painted white, with felt liners. Deck Helmet is modified Baseball helmet, and Deck Goggles are modified safety goggles.

*CONDITION NOTES:As previously explained, Saga of a Crew was a low budget Film, and this costume/prop was never constructed with high quality and robust materials. Many types of mixed materials and parts were used and affixed to the costume with adhesives like epoxy or hot glue gun. Originally, the suit was constructed around 1980 by Christopher and used in one other production before it was used again in 1983 for \'Saga of a Crew\', and again in 2005! The costume was originally constructed for 1 (one) sequence and was never intended to be repeatedly used and retained for over 30 years, but survive it has. It is therefore, a delicate and fragile item due to the construction methods described and it\'s age. It also has various soiling, staining, rust spots, odors, paint peeling, loose or missing parts etc. from age and use during production which also give it the \'gritty look\' of \'long term space service\'. Though this suit can still be worn, each time it is worn, strain is placed on the various adhesive attachments. Due to it\'s fragility, it is recommended that this suit be primarily for display and I would not recommend it for repeated wearings. Please be advised that there is potential possibility for parts to become detached due to the aged adhesives during shipment.
*DUE TO THE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE, NO REFUND SHALL BE OFFERED FOR THIS ITEM. DO NOT offer UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THIS.This Costume/Prop is a heavy, bulky item, approximately 28 Lbs total boxed weight, and shall be shipped in 2 (two) boxes to keep cost lower compared to a single larger box. DON\'T MISS THIS CHANCE TO OWN A PIECE OF SCIENCE FICTION \'B\'-MOVIE HISTORY!
