This group consists of very rare Federal cartridge and capboxes and sash from the American Civil War, these are extremely difficult to find in near complete sets like this.
The leather cartridge box is in fair salty condition for it\'s age. with some crazing and finish loss.The brass has a large amount of oxidization, but is stable.The leather latch on the cartridge box has been torn for many years, potentially even back during the war.The leather sash is pliable, with some crazing.The patina on this piece is absolutely beautiful.The cap box is in good condition with some crazing and wear, but is otherwise in-tact.There is what remains of a makers mark on the cap box\'s inner lid, I can make out \"New York\" on the mark, but little else.
