$675.00

This wooden (plywood) sign was part of the first seaplane base established by Robert S. Fogg Sr. in 1923 at the Weirs and remained until the early 1950s. Out of this location FOGG delivered mail and tourists all over the lake, and would tour the lake with tourists in his seaplanes.
Bob FOGG SR. has been referred to as the \"Granite State\'s pioneer of aviation.\", and \"The father of flight in NH.\" He was the first pilot to take flight from the Manchester Airport.
In 1925 FOGG was granted the country\'s first RFD airmail service contract.
This and many other interesting facts of this well known aviator are written in a book by Jane Rice, the granddaughter of Tom Rice a business partner of Fogg\'s, entitled \"Bob FOGG, and New Hampshire\'s Golden Age of Aviation.\"
Most of the photos in the book, were provided by Robert S. FOGG Jr.\"Bobby\" Fogg, also known affectionately by his close friends as \"the Colonel\" was a close friend, and as indicated on the reverse of the sign, gave this to me.
The sign measures 30\" x 19\" and is in pristine condition.
