Up for sale - Swiss Model 1863 bayonet, SN 149439. This bayonet shows most of the original blue on the blade and mix of blue/brown on the socket. Swiss markings such as the Swiss Cross and the Swiss cross over \"V\" are present (see detailed photos). The full length of the bayonet measures 21.75 inches, where as the actual blade length is 19.50 inches and the locking ring works just fine.This socket bayonet was used with the muzzle loading 10.4 mm. M1863 Infanteriegewehr (infantry rifle); and the 10.4 mm. rimfire M1863/67 Milbank-Amsler conversion; M1867 Peabody; and, M1869 Vetterli rifles. This bayonet could also be used with the 10.4 mm. Vetterli M1871 Infantry and M1871 Stutzer (sharpshooter) repeating rifles.
