Original US M1904 McClellan saddletree, in a desirable 12\" size, restored to as-new condition. Actually, with all old screw and nail holes filled, rivets freshly-peened, thonging holes freshed-out, screws replaced and cinched-down tightly, wood sanded overall, and new enamel paint applied in several coats, this is a far better tree than it was when delivered to the government new in 1917. The M1904 saddletree was the basis for all McClellans manufactured until the abolition of the Cavalry in 1942, so this tree would be the perfect foundation for an M1904, M1904/17, or M1928 McClellan. But fans have used these robust and adaptable trees as bases for everything from Plains Indian to Hun saddles. Our price doesn\'t even cover the cost of the restoration work.
