Original M1859 United States Marine Corps Non-Commissioned Officer\'s Sword!

This USMC-NCO sword is one of a kind! You will never find a sword of this type from this era. This sword is referred to as the M1859 USMC NCO Sword.Thisis a sabre-type sword.This sword is believed to be from the Vietnam era. It was carried by a Marine with a rank of Corporal or higher to social events like weddings, formal meetings, etc... You will never find a sword like this one.I attempted to find, contact and return this sword toits original ownerbut was unsuccessful. I think that by selling this sword it will go to a person who can truly appreciate the history of such a unique item. This sword is intended to be used as a decoration piece or as part of a collection.

Specifications:

Blade: Standard USMC-NCO officers sword blade. Slightly curved sabre blade. 1 false edge with engraving in fuller on both sides of blade. Blade is Imperial Quality Stainless made in Germany.

Handle: leather wrapped with twisted brass wire.

Hilt: cast brass with a half basket guard and decorative cut-outs on one side (see photographs).

Sheath/Scabbard is black leather with a brass mount at top for mounting a frog (not included) and a brass drag at bottom.

Note: This sword is used and has spotted rust onsome parts of sword and brass parts of sheath. The sheath\'s leather also has minor peeling. This is a true swordthat is approximately 50 years old or older. The blade is NOT sharp and has a false
