Welcome! This listing is for a very old Canadian Legion medal with ribbon from 1936. The medal has a stamp on the back that shows it was made by J.R. Gaunt. The front hanger shows a beaver with maple leaves and is inscribed Canadian Legion, under which it shows the year of 1936. This medal was from a unveiling of the Vimy Memorial. The battle of Vimy Ridge occurred during World War I in mid-April of 1917 and the corps suffered heavy losses. This medal was given to help remember their sacrifice and achievement.
