This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING of this poster by the famed artist Ben Shahn. Printed in 1968, it was used to promote the political campaign of Eugene McCarthy against LBJ. When Eugene McCarthy ran for President in 1968 against Lyndon Johnson, his candidacy was based upon his opposition to the war in Vietnam. As a prominent pacifist, Shahn was the perfect artist to create a campaign poster for McCarthy, the patriotically-colored dove promoting peace at last.This poster measures 25 x 38 inches (63.5 x 96.5 cm). It is in A condition (please note that standard A condition on any vintage paper item allows for very minor handling wear in the margins, provided it does not affect the image).
