This is such a nice badge I\'m sad to see it go but a more expensive item has arisen requiring money Hence this reluctant sale.

This badge is hallmarked Birmingham 1918 (lower case t) in the lower Loral leafs

Such a nice patina and a very solid badge, not like some light weight badges.

This badge is even more unique because the original owner ( G F NEWSOM ) has scratched his name into the back bottom edge of the badge. I have his medal index card showing he was a lieutenant in the rifle brigade. I believe this badge could be one of the \"victory\" badges commissioned at the end of the war by officers and regiments to celebrate the end of the war as a prize / celebration gift to themselves or other officers.

All in all a brilliant badge and to have one with history is such a nice thing to find for a collector of both badges and the rifle brigade
