Original Ww2 German Luftwaffe Flying Jacket No Reserve For SaleFor sale is an original Luftwaffe flying jacket from the Second World War. This jacket has been on display at a private museum in San Diego for the last 3 years. It's in good condition for its age with no holes and still with supple leather. The jacket has minor leather scuffs as expected around the cuffs. The neck is worn but is still in good shape. Both zippers still work and the original makers label is still in the jacket. The lining of the jacket is in excellent condition. The shoulder boards are sewn in the jacket shoulder with the screw in type button. The only bad thing is the jacket has missing buttons on the left side which have disappeared through wear and tear. I bought the jacket in 2001 from an RAF veteran called Herbert Jones, he was a navigator on the Halifax bomber. He was shot down in February 1945 and evaded capture and managed to make his way back to France where he was smuggled back to England. He really was an amazing man with a great story to tell. Herbert got the jacket just after the war ended when he left the RAF it was a leaving gift from his squadron. Herbert didn't know the Luftwaffe pilot who wore the jacket, the only thing he knew about it was that it came from a Luftwaffe POW and that it was a squadron memento. This was the jacket that started my interest in collecting and with a heavy heart I have to let it go. The dimensions for the jacket are:Shoulder to Shoulder 18"
Armpit to Armpit 21"
Shoulder to Cuff 24"
Neck to Tail 21" I offer free domestic and international shipping. If you have any questions please ask
