This is a genuinevintage Mk.XIV altimeter as fitted to late Supermarine Spitfires, Gloster Meteorsand Vampires etc.
I understand thistype was fitted to British combat aircraft from the late 1940s to the 1950s.
It is made ofbakelite andis in excellent used condition (with only a few scratches or hairline cracks tothe right-hand side (which would not be noticeable when fitted) - see photosfor detail. The front altitude adjuster knob seems to work fine. The datalabel is still present as well as all manufacturer’s information.
