Original WW2 US Navy USN M1 Schlueter Gray Painted Helmet Swivel Bale Front Seam Named!Excellent set!This set is in good condition. Shows some wear from use and age.This helmet has period ship board gray paint and cork finish.Insignia hand applied on front.Both straps are securely attached to swivel bale. Hardware on short end is rusty. Long end is missing hardware and straphas a tear. Some gray paint is on strap.Heat stamp reads S 408a. S is for the Schlueter manf. companySwivel bale and front seam.Liner is a Westinghouse.Exterior of liner exhibits no paint in but in good condition.Interior of liner has some sprayed gray paint as well.one smaller crack to rear edge of linerInterior suspension is in good complete condition with leather chin strap. liner showing use.black painted A washers.Liner has RESEARCH possibilities with TWO names.First name is hand applied to liner shell Van Snider?Second name is Stenciled to sweatband leather.
