Original WWII Japanese Army late war officer\'s shin-gunto \"samurai sword\", late war variation with, steel scabbard with 98% original paint. Blade is 26\" long, hand made, in good polish with just finger prints, razor sharp. The tang is dated and signed. Dated Showa 20 (1945) 2 (January) Lucky day (SHO WA NI JU NEN NI GATSU) on the left tang, signed on the right tang NOBU YOSHI. This model has brown wrapping over white ray skin, two blackend menuki with 3 cherry blossoms, blackend undecorated pommel cap, blackened fuchi, and a plain blackened tsuba. It has 1 aluminum seppa on each side of the tsuba, brass hibaki. Two holes in the tang, wrap a little loose on the end, overall a nice sword and in VG++++ condition and a scarce late war Japanese sword. I have tried to show the date and signature on the tang, but I do have rubbings that make the markings clear.
