Original vintage Gibson reverse Firebird guitar pickguard, from 1963, 1964, 1965.Absolutely 100% original, this guard came off my friend’s own ‘63 Firebird after the neck snapped. Will of course fit not only a ‘63 bird but your ’64, or ‘65 reverse Firebird too. And unlike the cheap repro guards you see, you can be sure the switch-hole is in the right place.
These original reverse Firebird guards are getting tough to find, especially in decent shape. This one is pretty nice minus the corner chips and a hairline crack by the screw-hole.The embossed bird logo is still just visible, though near all the red color is gone with time.
Best of all, it’s been screwed down to plywood since it came off the guitar, so virtually zero shrinkage. If you want to make your own 1960’s Firebird correct, here’s your chance. Will be safely shipped to you on the wood and well protected.
