Antique Charger Wall Plate Haynes Chesaspeake Pottery Dickens Old Curiosity Shop DICK SWIVELLER AND THE MARCHIONESS C.D. Gibson 13\". Ornate scrolls on burgundy rim with embossed shells at side positions, all highlighted in gold. The characters are playing cards, Swiveller with his top hat and the Marchioness with a grumpy look on her face. Signed \"After C. D Gibson\". Burgundy rim shades to deep green then a lighter green. Transfer pattern has nice colors, shading and details. Plate has hanging wire attached to rim holes.NOTE: Plate has no bottom mark, but these plates are identified with David Haynes. The company was Chesapeake Pottery 1880-1890, Haynes, Bennett and Co. 1890-1896 and D.F.Haynes and Son 1896-1924. Most of these plates are dated to 1880\'s.Good to very good antique estate condition. Expected fine crazing, light browning seen on back, and wear to gold scrolls. Plate has scattered bubble holes from manufacturing that leave tiny voids in some colors. Gold can be restored, but I think it is a wonderful antique display piece as is!
