An outstanding Old Paris porcelainvase or urn decorated in the manner of the Tucker Factories of Philadelphia, ca. 1835.It has been converted into a lamp. The vase measures 12 1/2\" high (vase measurement only) and has gold gilding with a rich patina. The exquisite hand-painted decoration of flowers and birds covers the entire surface.Below the painteddecoration, thelower portion of the vase is an unusual matt glazed section that appears to be molded flower and acanthus leaf decoration.

There is afingernail size old chip at upper rim, an old repair of the \"lion\'s\" crest and two oldrepairs on thebottom edge of the base. The back of the base has been notched for the electrical cord. The piece could be professionally restored, but I personally don\'t mind the damage.

This would be a fabulous accessory for your Classical or Empire or Early American interior!
