I will be listing a variety of nice Old and Vintage Items over the next week or so. Here is a CHARMING COMPANION PAIR OF ANTIQUE ITALIAN OIL ON BOARD PAINTINGS by F. MANCINI. One with BOY WITH SHEEP and other with GIRL WITH CHICKENS. Both paintings Signed Lower Left along with nice brass plaques with artist name \"F. MANCINI\" on frames. Paintings themselves are 13-3/4\" x 9-3/4\". They appear to be framed in their original matching gold frames with grain-painted inner liners. With the frames, they are 21\" x 17\".
Though I was able to find other similar paintings by this Italian artist, I was unable to find much of any information about the artist (the only other similar F. Mancini painting I found for sale was priced as $798 and that one wasn\'t as nice as these in my opinion). The paintings look to be c.1920\'s vintage or thereabouts. Very quaint interior scenes of European children with animals, most likely originally intended to be sold and presented as a pair, therefore I am selling the pair together.
Paintings themselves are in good condition with no damage and flat boards. The frame with the Girl has a lot of areas of vintage gold touch-up to wear mostly along the front ridges as well as some chipping to gesso at top edge of frame. The frame with the Boy has a chip to gesso on left ridge along with some of the same gold touch-up on some other worn ridge spots but not as much as the other frame. Both frames still presentable as is however. Nice old paintings.
