This is a pair of Japanese polished bronze mixed metal vases of pear-shaped form decorated with opposing landscape and floral panels. Mounted on scrolling feet. Inlaid with silver and gold.The landscape panel features a pagoda, mountains, waterfall and clouds with inset shining metal stones. The floral panel features chrysanthemums and lotus in gold and silver eminating from raised ariated rockwork, inset with silver and copper sparkling metals. Scrolling leaf handles and foliate rim.Meiji period.Height 20 cms. Complete vase weights 1018 gms. Total weight of both vases 1936 gms.One vase has a handle missing and the other handles is loose.
