Pair Of Vintage Norwegian Cathrineholm Enameled Bowls:
Welcome! You're offerding on a pair of beautiful vintage 1960s enameled shallow bowls from the highly-regarded Cathrineholm company of Norway. From what I've been able to discover, this lotus-pattern-decorated enamelware was added to the very popular line designed by Greta Pritz Kittelsen without her approval -- she felt that the pieces she had designed stood on their own, without such decoration (although this pattern did become extremely popular). The lotus pattern decoration was designed by Arne Clausen, who had designed other designs and graphics for Cathrineholm. I have seen these referred to as scampi dishes, but am wondering if it's only the similar dishes with wooden handles that are actually for scampi.
These dishes are pleasantly weighty -- over 3/4 lb. each -- and heavily enameled, in colors of aqua and royal blue (sometimes called blueberry). Each one is 7 1/4" in diameter x 8 1/2" across where the handles extend out x 1 1/8" deep, in excellent condition. The darker dish shows the "Made by Cathrineholm, Norway" mark. Free of scratches and wear marks. Beautiful and functional!
I accept payment by PayPal. The actual cost of shipping will depend on the shipping method preferred by the buyer, but, depending on the buyer's location, Iwould think it would be around $10.00 or less ($10.00 is the approx. price to New York) for Parcel Post with delivery confirmation(based on the USPS website information). I prefer to not shipinternationally, but should the situation arise, the shipping cost will depend on the buyer'scountry. I will accept a return on this only if for some reason thebuyer feels that the dishes are not as described. Please read the description and conditioncarefully, and look at all the photos. I will, of course, be happy toanswerany questions you may have. Upon receipt of the dishes, you have 3 days toinform me of an issue. You have 7 days to return the dishes if there is aproblem, and I must receive the exact items I sent in the exact condition I sentthem; otherwise, no refund will be issued. My expectation is that the buyerwill bemore than pleased with the dishes, and that we will communicate well, promptly, and fairly with each other. I will email the buyer when I am shippingthe dishes out, and all shipping will have tracking and Delivery Confirmationin the U.S.
