I imported the clock approximately 7 years ago. This is a wonderful advertising display clock which is a true piece of time keeping history. This is one of the Patek Philippe Grand Celestial Special Edition II clocks which was only used as a commercial display for authorized wrist watch dealers. It’s a truly breathtaking, beautiful clock that will be the subject of conversation for all who are lucky enough to be in the same room to view it in person. The clock has a solid black hardwood base which is lacquered piano finish and the hand blown glass dome that has the large engraved/etched Patek Philippe Calatrava logo. This scratch free glass enclosure allows an unobstructed, 360 degree view of the entire brass clock while preserving it from the Environment it has been displayed in.The opulent open dial is in overlay 18K white gold (chrome like mirroed finish). This precise instrument of time features the highly accurate quartz regulated all German made gear-train movement that’s powered by one standard sized R14 cell. The exposed, visible and highly intricate gear train system features the month and zodiac disc indicator, hours and minutes, sun, moon and a crystal representation of the Earth, all of which reproduce the annual orbit of the Earth around the sun, with the Earth rotating around it’s own axis once every 24 hours while the moon revolves around the Earth in 29.5 days, completing a full rotation around it’s axis. In the course of one year the Earth passes all the twelve zodiac signs, months and individual days which are indicated on the highly polished solid disc. The clock measures 11 ¼ inches (285mm) in height and has a diameter of 8 ¼ inches (210mm). The clock is pre-owned, it\'s a more then a few years old but in excellent condition and does keep accurate time.The clock comes with the original highly detailed, inlaid hardwood display case that\'s in near mint condition. The case measures 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep and it’s 14 3/4 inches tall. Look at the photos below and you will see the inside of the case has mirrors which greatly enhances the clock being displayed within the case.It’s a used watch sellers display that is no longer in use, but understand that this is an advertising display clock for the authorized watch dealers. Not a clock meant for resale or retail sale. It is not a catalog item, and is not available for public purchase as a brand new clock through any retail sale. It was not available to anyone but the watch dealers. Do not confuse this with with the wonderful watches available for retail purchase. Any warranty that was attached to this clock when it was new was available to the authorized watch dealer only, and would no longer be valid.
