PROFESSIONAL ANIMATION DESK / ANIMATOR\'S DESK for the serious animator / artist / painter / student / crafter. This is a professional custom made piece of film industry furniture. In the late 1990s, after leaving employment at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, a small group of dedicated artists started their own animated cartoon studio. During the start up we had a number of these desks custom built for the office. They are modeled roughly after the original and historic Disney Studio animation desks that were used for so many years. Being custom built to our specifications, they ran somewhere in the range of $2500 each to construct. This is a large desk / drafting table / drawing desk - measuring over six feet in length not including the removable character model sheet wings. When the wings are extended, the measurement in length is over nine feet long. Impressive, no? There are three good sized drawers on each side. You\'ll be \'king animator\' when seated behind this desk. And, if you like animated film history, you\'ll be happy to know that a number of screen credited artists and animators have actually worked at - and labored over - this particular desk over the years; including talented animators who contributed to famous Hollywood motion pictures like \'The Lion King\', \'Tarzan\' and \'The Little Mermaid\' among others. So, you get a nice extra added vibe when working behind this piece! Cool, huh? The desk has been well used and loved. It shows some wear from heavy use. Including late night coffee stains, water marks and heavy scuffs. It has been in storage and is dusty. It could certainly use some TLC and a bit of rejuvenation - probably some drawer adjustments, too. It all functions, of course, but its happy new home should give it a good cleaning and once over. Because of the history and many good memories, we really hate to part with it - but it just shouldn\'t be kept in storage away from an appreciative new home. Please note that it does not include any animation disc or peg bars. You will have to supply your own - be it Oxberry or standard disc. It does have a fine lighting source lamp and power strip - she\'s pretty ready to go. Just bring your animation talents , drawing skills and fresh new ideas - make some new history here, please. It\'s a heavy, substantial piece of furniture but you\'ll be glad to know it was designed to come apart in five easier to manage pieces. Local PICK UP ONLY please. With very minimal conversion this desk could be converted for use as a computer desk , laptop work station , home office secretary , office desk , art crafters / card crafting scrappers corner with plenty of shelf space.
