Painted Ponies: Gold, Frankincense And Myrrh Figurine Holiday 2010 For Sale
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh
Pony Story: The story of the Magi is celebrated each Christmas. Three Wise Men, or Kings from the East, followed a radiant star that guided them to Bethlehem, where they laid rare, precious gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, before the baby Jesus. Many believe that these precious gifts brought to the Christ Child by the Three Wise Men, may be the origin of the custom of gift giving at Christmas, which has become universal. About the Artists: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh is a collaboration between one of the largest dealers of Painted Ponies in the state of Oklahoma, and her best-selling artist. For years, Kami Cain has been the owner/operator of Kokopelli Trails, an art gallery located in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Aloma Wolfington, a native Oklahoman well known for her detailed treatment of Native and Western themes, is a close friend and the creative force behind the figurine Rolling Thunder. Kami had been waiting for a holiday Pony to come along that featured a nativity scene, "because that?s the reason I celebrate Christmas." And one day she could wait no longer. She approached her friend with a name, the concept and a rough sketch, and Aloma took it from there, bringing the idea to life with inspiring beauty.
