This is a pair of inlaid straw pictures from the former USSR and dated on the back 1977.The pictures each measure 7-1/4\" X 9-3/4\"and are in excellent condition. The golden straw has been meticulously laid on a gloss black painted piece of wood that is approx. 1/8 inch thick. Depicted isa village man and womandressed in native dress - the woman with her baskets and the man surrounded by his tools of trade.They are beautifully done and speak of a time long ago.
