If you collect cobalt blue glass, you must add these charming little ashtrays/dishes to your collection! Since they belonged to my grandmother, I doubt that they were ever used as ashtrays, but they are lovely and decorative just on their own. What gives them extra appeal is the fine gilded touches and the hand-painted floral motifs. They are quite delicate and small, measuring just 3\" across on the square one, and the rounded one is 3.5\" in diameter.
As for the age, they could easily be from the 1920s, 30s or 40s. They are in almost mint condition, the only flaws being some very minor wear on the bottoms, consistent with age; a tiny chip on the bottom of the round one (see last photo) that is so smooth, it could even be inherent in the glass; and minor loss of gold paint on the square one (see third photo.)
