In the Swedish town of Wattholma there is one of the country\'s oldest iron mills. Some of its parts date back to the 15th century. There, in the 1920s, one of the workers made an iron angel, which he was first critisized for, because he made the figurine for himself during his work hours. Soon, though, the factory took up the production of this angel and another one, facing the opposite direction. In the beginning, they were mostly placed on the iron oven doors as a decoration.
They were produced until 1971, but we are sure our angels are older - they have patina and some verdigris.
Marked Wattholma Sweden on the back.
