Celebrating the American history of dolls....This absolutely adorable, vintage black Americana, well made, heavy brown sateen, cloth fabric doll pair, SAMBO & MIRANDA, circa 1943, belong in every rag doll collection. With their wonderfully exaggerated and hand embroidered ethnic features, they were each made (by different talented sewers) using McCall\'s #1068 sewing pattern. Measuring, 18 and 19\" tall, each has slender limbs with mitt type hands and separate thumbs, shaped feet, flat joints at knees and elbows and embroidered features including those adorable, black (googly) eyes with white fabric sockets, stitched eyebrows, super cute molded nose and finely stitched red lips and a full head of tight curly, black yarn hair. Dressed in charming clothing, she wears a delightful, calico printed cotton dress with puff sleeves and white cotton apron with ruffled hem over long white pantaloons & fabric hair ribbon. He wears adorable, tan corduroy overalls with large buttons (Raggedy Andy style) and plaid printed, flannel shirt & bow tie. She has printed legs and his legs match his shirt. They are in remarkably good condition with no stains or fading and no odors as they are from a smoke free home. They will make an excellent companions for some of your other vintage dolls including your Raggedy Ann and Andy friends. *See also our separate listing for another \"Miranda\" pattern made doll as in last photo.
