Patsy Louise \"Patricia\" Neal(January 20, 1926 – August 8, 2010) was an American actress of stage andscreen. She was best known for her film roles as World War II widow HelenBenson in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), wealthy matron EmilyEustace Failenson in Breakfast at Tiffany\'s (1961), and the worn-outhousekeeper Alma Brown in Hud (1963), for which she won the AcademyAward for Best Actress.

Provenance: From the estate of Ib Melchior, son of the renownedDanish opera star Lauritz Melchior, best known for his performances at the MetropolitanOpera as well as the San Francisco, Hamburg, and Chicago Operas.Ib, whoserved as an intelligence officer during World War II, was awarded a SilverStar for his capture of the infamous Nazi Werewolves. He later went on tobecome a noted author and science fiction screenwriter. After Lauritz?s deathin 1973, Ib inherited his father\'s extensive collection of autographs andmanuscripts and continued to add to it. The collection includes signatures,signed photos, letters, and other ephemera from famous movie stars, literaryfigures, composers, musicians and notable politicians.
