Pellon® Easy Pattern Copy of a 1925 Pictorial Review Company Minute Maid Apron. Uses1 yard of fabric.

From the pattern--This apron is as demure and dainty as a minute maid, yet it is large enough to be thoroughly practical. Pleats, stitched down to give a trim effect about the hips and across the the front are released half-way down, rippling into a pert flare. Patch pockets are cleverly fitted in between the pleats. Tie-strings fasten the apron at the back. This apron has been designed especially to be made of 1 yard of 36-inch material. 32-inch material requires 1 1/4 yards and is pieced.
The original pattern for the Minute Maidapron does not have neck ties or straps; it is meant to be pinned to the blouse and has short 12\" ties. In the envelopewithmy vintage pattern were 2 cutout newspaper pieces to make this into a bib apron with shoulder straps that join at the back waist. I will include copies of these pieces--please see last4 images of the apron I made with the extended bib and shoulder straps. No instructions were included with these pieces, but I finally figured it out! I will include my instructions for adding the bib extension and shoulder straps. The finished apron is not part of this listing. Additional fabric required tomake the bib apron.
This is a one size apron butyou could adjust itto makea larger size. Vintage one size, sometimes called full size, apron patterns tended toa smallsize, any adjustments to a larger sizeare your responsibility.Measurements from my finishedpinner apron made according to the pattern: 28\" across the waist from tie to tie;31\" from bib top to bottom front; the tiesare 12\" On the apron with the added biband back straps:28\" across the waist from tie to tie; 35 from bib top to bottom front; 40\" from shoulder to bottom; back straps 18 from shoulder to buttons. I made the short ties

This copy of my vintage pattern has been traced to Easy Pattern. Easy Pattern is a viscose and polyester non-woven tracing material used in pattern making. It is stronger than tissue, will not tear and so much easier to handle than patterns made from newsprint or heavy printing paper. Your pattern pieces will last for years and fold up easily for storage. All markings are on the pieces and the instructions have been printed on easy to read 8 1/2 x 11 sheets. Pin to your washed fabric, cut and sew!

My research indicates that the copyright restrictions for this pattern expired years ago and the copyright was not renewed, making it in public domain. The Mail Order apron patterns were released before January 1, 1955, without notice of copyright and they entered the public domain upon release January 1 1955. My collection of aprons from the 1920\'s were issued without notice of copyright. Mail Order patterns/designs/transfers released without notice of copyright include: Laura Wheeler, Alice Brooks, Carol Curtis, Anne Adams, Ann Cabot, Grit, Alice Brooks, Capper\'s Weekly, Marian Martin. Many farm publications, newspapers and other publications featured these patterns for sale and they were mailed without date or notice of copyright on the instructions. In some cases the date can be determined by the price of the postal stamp or metered mail stamp on the envelope. Many of the patterns do not have the original mailing envelope and dating is left to the style of the design.
My research indicates that the patterns offered by Sew Vintage Memories are within the Public Domain. If anyone knows of any that are not, please send me documentation and I will remove the pattern in question.
