This adorable cat figurine, Penelope, has the look to it that belongs with an Egyptian Goddess of excess but more cuddly. Austin Products sculptor David Fisher modeled Penelope the cat in 1985, the piece is signed. Sculpted in the stone-like finish of Durastone® that is utilized often by this artist at Austin Prod Inc.
Since 1952, Austin Sculptures has created the most extensive collection of sculpture reproductions in the world as well as original pieces. Austin Sculpture stopped producing statuary and other home decor in 2009, making all items retired. Their standard for excellence for over fifty years will be hard to replace. The products the artists visualized came to life in varying degrees of fun and fabulous to sensuous, serious and striking, able to compliment any home and any décor. The ability to bring to life the ordinary was enchanting in its simplicity.
This figurine stands 10” high x 7.25” long x 6.25” wide (approx) weighs 86 ounces unpacked. It will be packed extremely carefully for shipment as always. Found in excellent condition, no visible flaws, black felt bottom. Austin sculptures are made of Durastone® , hand cast and hand finished. Durastone® is a special formulation of crushed stone mixed in a slurry. Sculptures may be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasives.
