DESCRIPTION:Pair of old, vintage penguin figures. A Beswick bird with a walking stick under the wing. Designed by Arthur Gredlington and made from 1940-1973, this is model #803. It is about 3 7/8\" high. Printed \"BESWICK ENGLAND\" on bottom of foot. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, it does have light crazing in the white areas. The other penquin is about 4 7/8\" high. It has \"England\" printed in black on bottom. It also has the original paper label which reads: STAFFORDSHIRE A Genuine ALBION MODEL Made by MIDWINTER LTD. BURSLEM ENGLAND. This one has a chip on 1 toe, no other chips, cracks or crazing. Midwinterstarted using the \"Ltd\" in the name in1932,the business was closed in 1987.
