Zeus / Jupiter is the Greek / Roman god of thunder and the sky,overseer of the universe, and the ruler / chieftan of the gods.He is thefather of several gods and heroes within Greek and Roman mythologicalnarratives and is associated in Greek mythology with his many erotic escapades.

There area number of front facing amethyst depictions of mythological characters carvedinto cameos, however I have found none with Zeus. It is actually incredibly rare to find afront-facing depiction of Zeus in hardstone due to the difficulty of thesubject matter. There are some fine pieces in coral and shell, but thesematerials are not as difficult of a medium to work with.

The approximate cameo size is 1.02inches (2.6 cm) Length by 0.83 inches (2.1 cm) Width 0.35 inches (0.9 cm) CameoDepth.

Brooch:

Thebrooch complements the cameo exquisitely. It is gold (acid tested 18K and 22Kexcept components) decorated with 28 pearls(3 mm untested) and 28 diamonds (1mm Tested w/ Diamond Selector II)

Thecameo and brooch weigh 16.7 grams

Condition:Several natural inclusions are visible inside of the amethyst from therear and under light from the front. These inclusions (internal cracks) do notpenetrate to the exterior of the stone. The pearls may not all be consistent. I have made every effort to provideaccurate photographic evidence of any blemishes I have identified during myinspection of the item.Payment:
