The Petzl Tactical EXO EASHOOK system was originally designed to help get first responders out of trouble, but the military realized it\'s potential and quickly perverted its design to help them do the opposite. The 2.9 pound kit consists of 50 feet of 7.5mm Technora heat- and cut-resistant line with a captive EASHOOK \'biner on the anchor end and the tactical EXO self-braking belay device on the other.

The EXO EASHOOK personal escape system consists of four elements: an EASHOOK anchor carabiner that is easy to manipulate and use when an evacuation plan with anchor point possibilities is identified; a rope that resists abrasion and high temperatures; a self-braking system for quickly giving slack and controlling and stopping a descent.
